JETS WEEK 10 RECAP: IS THIS THE END?
- Tom Mele, Contributor
It’s the end of the first half as I am writing this, and the Jets have failed miserably on following up on any momentum they had coming off their 10 day break. The Arizona Cardinals have yet to be stopped on offense and they lead 24-6 going into halftime.
The Jets have moved the ball but on their first two possessions they managed only two fields goals while the Cardinals scored td’s on their first three drives.
QB Kyler Murray ran for a score and was 17 for 19 in the air for 199 yards with one td pass. Conversely Aaron Rodgers was 7 of 11 for 40 yards.
Overall the Cards out gained the Jets 239-85 in the first half. Too many missed tackles and not being in the right place to make a tackle have been the achilles.
(Halftime)
The Jets came out in the 2nd half and drove to the Arizona 3 yard line. A score here and they get right back in. But on 4th down Aaron Rodgers fumbled under pressure effectively ending the game. The Cardinals went straight down the field and another TD run by Kyle Murray made the score 31-6 and that was the final.
Murray went 5 for 5 in the 2nd half finishing up 22 of 24 on the day. The Cardinals outgunned the Jets overall 406-207. The Jets looked terrible in every aspect of the game.
This doesn’t end the Jets chances of making the playoffs mathematically but it sure feels like this is the end for Gang Green. It also makes you wonder was letting go of Robert Saleh the right move?
