THE JETS LOSE....AGAIN

- Tom Mele, Contributor

Orchard Park NY.  Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson reached 1,000 yards receiving for the third straight to start his career. Wilson is the first Jet to ever do this and only the 10th i NFL history.

That was the good.

Now the bad...

Aaron Rodgers is now officially the most sacked QB in NFL history. The 41-year-old is now sacked 568 times moving past Tom Brady who was at 565.

The Jets were penalized 16 times for 120 yards, sacked for a safety in the endzone and committed three turnovers .

The Jets were losing 40-0 before benching Rodgers in place of backup Tyrod Taylor.

The Jets fell to Buffalo 40-14 dropping themselves to 4-12 and New York will finish with five or fewer wins for the seventh time over a 14-season playoff drought.  The longest in the NFL and overall, in sports.

"It's kind of like the season, it just got away from us.  Too many games got away from us," said Rodgers. "We were moving the ball well and then just hit a wall. That has been kind of the season".

Meanwhile the Bills (13-3) won their fifth consecutive AFC East Title and won a franchise record tying 13 wins for the fifth time in history.

The Jets wrap up this season next week at MetLife against Miami in a game that during the preseason looked like it would decide the division. Instead, the Bills regrouped and clinched the No 2 Seed in the AFC Playoffs.

Thankfully next week will end the year for Gang Green and this writer for the BCP + will prepare for what can only be expected as an intriguing offseason.

Happy New Year from the BCP PLUS !!!
