Another Bowling Show Ugly Game

-Tom Mele, Contributor

"From Sept. 12, my goal was to come back to the practice field and try and play." Aaron Rodgers made that happen this week as he threw to his receivers to spur the Jets on in the middle of a four-game losing
streak.

Rodgers returning to the practice field has been the only bright spot this week as the Jets performed poorly once again on offense in what is becoming one of the longest and toughest seasons in Jets history.

The Atlanta Falcons (6-6) won their second straight game and pulled
even with New Orleans in the NFC South, who lost to Detroit. The Falcons didn’t do much on offense against NY and in fact were
outgained 259-194, but a 20-yard TD pass from QB Desmond Ridder
to TE Mycole Pruitt provided all the offense needed in a 13-8 victory
over Gang Green (4-8), who once again failed to score an offensive
touchdown in dropping their fifth consecutive game.

Aaron Rodgers would have maybe seen the field this season if the
Jets had a chance for the playoffs but with these hopes hanging by a
thread the best option for Rodgers is to fight another day or in this case another year. The 2024 NFL Season.

The Jets kept their league worst third down conversion rate in tact by
going 2 for 15 and the penalties were not helpful committing 11 for 71
yards, including eight of those in the first half. The Jets also committed three turnovers and it is amazing they still had a chance to win this game late.

QB Tim Boyle made his second career start and was 14/25 for 148
yards with a pick. He was replaced late in the game with Trevor Siemian for an offensive spark and he was 5/13 for 66 yards. Xavier Gibson was a bright spot for NY, the “Hard Knocks” darling caught 5 passes for 77 yards. TE C.J. Uzomah was carted off the field early in the game injuring his MCL on his right knee.

The season continues next week at home against the Houston Texans
who are in the thick of playoff race sitting in second place with a 7-5
record.
