The Giants (1-2) and Jets (2-2) will face off on October 29th at Metlife Stadium in week 7 but this past Saturday saw both teams wrap up their preseason schedule with their annual contest, albeit this year there was a little more “juice” in this game. The Jets trotted out QB Aaron Rodgers for the first two series and that generated some buzz as Rodgers has not played in a preseason game since 2018. Head Coach Robert Saleh was quoted in the HBO Television series “Hard Knocks” that everyone was on deck for this game.

The Giants were resting their defensive starters, so this was not the test many were hoping to see, but it
was eye opening to see a couple of plays. The first was the speed of newly acquired edge rusher Isaiah
Simmons flushing Rodgers out of the pocket and forcing him to throw away the ball. The speed is why Head Coach Brian Dabol made this trade for Simmons last week. The other significant play was the laser
throw Rodgers made to WR Garrett Wilson for the first score of the game. It was just typical Rodgers as
the coverage was sound but the throw was perfect.

Tyrod Taylor started for the Giants but soon gave away to Tommy Devito who played the majority of the
game. Devito threw one TD pass but was also intercepted once by Brandon Echols who ran it back 67
yards for the Jets early 14-0 lead. The Giants were able to close the gap to 14-13 at halftime. The second saw the Jets extend the lead to 32-16 before the Giants scored a late TD to make the final
score 32-24.
