STEELERS SEASON RECAP: FOOTBALL PURGATORY

- Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor

This Pitssburgh Steeler season was exactly what I expected unfortunately. My preseason prediction was 9-8 at worse, or 10-7 at best. We won 10 games and kept Tomlins streak alive. 18 years and never lost a single season.

That's great, BUT also as per usual, we lost in the first round in the playoffs.

Here’s the issue….we aren’t ever good enough to be Super Bowl contenders, but even worse, we aren’t ever bad enough to get a top 10 pick. We are just stuck in the same spot every season.

  • Win 9 or 10 games

  • Make Playoffs

  • Lose in the first round

  • Repeat that every year

It’s madness. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. That’s the Pittsburgh Steelers do to a T.

We have Tomlin for another 3 years due to an extension. I love Mike I want to make that clear. But sometimes it’s better for both sides to move on

Look at the eagles, Andy Reid took them to 5 NFC championship and one Super Bowl loss. But they moved on anyways and it worked out better for the eagles and Andy. This might be were we are at with Mike and the Steelers.

Even if we are AWFUL next year under a new coach, that would at the every least finally give us a chance to draft a franchise QB. 2025 is going to be a great QB class

We have a lot of players coming up on their contracts…so i expect to see a lot of changes anyways for this Steelers locker room.

I also predict we will trade George Pickens In the off season. I think he wore out his welcome in Pittsburgh.

My final prediction is that we WILL NOT get rid of Tomlin and next year we will once again win another 9/10 games and lose early in the playoffs.

Because Pittsburgh seems to be okay staying in football purgatory.

Thanks for joining me this season!

I'll be back shortly with your UFL DC Defenders coverage!!
