Pittsburgh Steelers Week 13 Recap: When It Rains It Pours
Tyler Yasembousky, Contributor
The Steelers / Cardinals rivalry has been played 62 times (including 1 post-season game), with the Pittsburgh Steelers winning 35 games and the Arizona Cardinals winning 24 games. They have also tied 3 times. Pittsburgh Steelers lead series 35-24-3.
I’m sorry folks, I don’t have it in me to give a long winded explanation about this game. It was a dumpster fire. Simple as that.
Everything that COULD GO WRONG, WENT WRONG. Starting with Kenny Pickett hurting his ankle even more than it was. He’s now out for at least 2/4 weeks. But since he had surgery I’m gonna assume it’s at least the four games if not more.
Then we had Old NOT reliable Mitch Trubisky come into the game
and immediately fumble the ball in the Redzone when we had a chance to head into the half with a lead.
Instead the cardinals took it 99 yards for a touchdown. Also Chris Boswell who hasn’t missed a kick in Pittsburgh all year missed a FG.
Then TJ Watt reaggravated an injury.
Like I said anything that could go wrong went wrong in this game.
It was complete disaster. This isn’t even taking into account the MULTIPLE rain delays.
This was like a nightmare that we couldn’t wake up from. That's the biggest issue I have. It's the fact that the Steelers completely came into this game against a two win Cardinals team and they weren’t prepared in any, way, shape or form.
We failed in every way imaginable Sunday. From Coaching to too many penalties. Injuries were a problem. This team wasn’t ready to play. I was embarrassed for this team. I don’t care that we lost. I care ABOUT THE WAY WE LOST. It was a pathetic performance from the team.
We are now heading into a Thursday Night Football game against a
great defense (but a horrible offense) that sounds like we are playing
ourselves…
