WWE ELIMINATION CHAMBER 2025 REVIEW

- Rob Crowther, Editor In Chief

No matter what you call it, "The New Era" , "The Triple H Era", or the like, the new regime in the WWE has taught us to expect the unexpected. Elimination Chamber 2025 was no different, as the PLE unveiled one of the most unexpected and shocking heel turns in pro wrestling history.

The man with the mantra of Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect turned not only on Cody Rhodes, but the WWE Universe as a whole, as he aligned himself with The Final Boss, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, after winning the Men's Elimination Chamber Match.

The match itself, which was billed as the most star studded Elmination Chamber match of all time, delivered in not only pro wrestling acumen, but with an abundance of storytelling intertwining the journeys of all six competitors. The first complete shock was Seth Rollins' curb stomp on CM Punk after The Monday Night Messiah had already been elminated, allowing Cena to get the easy victory, and perhaps setting up a Mania match between Punk and Seth.

Lots of nuance and subplot here, even going down to The Rock's continous hand gesture countdowns, which I believe are incredibly significant, despite what others are saying. The alliance of Cena and The Rock makes sense in a lot of ways. They've both transcended pro wrestling, work in Hollywood, and have an understanding for each other's part time schedule. Cena only has about ten months left in his active in ring career, and is absolutely trying something unfamiliar and new. As shocked as we all were, I'm kind of here for it.

My first favorite moment of the night however, goes to the Women's Elmination Chamber, in which Naomi was elminated early by a returning Jade Cargil. This spot was absolutely brilliant, as Liv made it seem as though Jade was coming for her, but the minute Cargil hit the ring she went right for Naomi. The shock from commentary and Bianca was abolutely perfect, and added to this beautiful chaos. Bianca's emoting and crying from inside the chamber was absoutely BRILLIANT. You really felt how helpless Bianca was, and despite being emotional, she was still able to win the match.

I've said it on the podcast, and I'll say it again. I think Bianca Belair is the best woman's wrestler on the planet, and she is continuing to show us that in real time. Not to be outdone, I have to give flowers to Liv Morgan who was the workhorse of the Women's EC match. Liv has come a long way and really made the most of her 2024 and 2025 so far. Great showing by all six ladies in this one, and I'm more than excited to see the WrestleMania ramifications going forward.

Trish Stratus and WWE Women's Champion, Tiffany Stratton defeated the team of Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. Very solid match here, as Trish continues to prove that she's still got it. Great showing by all four women here, but this match made Tiffy look very strong headed into her upcoming match with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania.

Not to be outdone, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn put on a clinic in Toronto. You knew they would as these two have been beating the heck out of each other for decades now, from bingo halls to hockey rinks to sold out arenas. Heavy chair usage in this one and absolutely devastating maneuvers through said chairs all match long. Owens won this one looking like even more of a monster than before, but was immediately put in check by a returning Randy Orton. It's looking like Orton VS. KO at Mania, but it begs the question, what's next for Sami?

Without a doubt, Elmination Chamber 2025 was the best Elmination Chamber PLE of all time. Heel turns, long term storytelling, and top notch matches throughout. The road to WrestleMania has never looked so promising. Be sure to keep it right here on BCP+ for all your WWE WrestleMania coverage.
