WWE RAW 10/28/24 REVIEW
- Rob Crowther, Editor In Chief
It doesn't get much sweeter. After a stellar NXT Halloween Havoc on Sunday night, Monday Night Raw eminates live in front of a capacity crowd in Hershey, PA. The go home show ahead of WWE's Crown Jewel event elevated feuds, advanced a few key storylines, and left us with more questions than answers in the saga of The Bloodline.
The show opens with The Intercontinental Championship-less Jey Uso to a massive response from the crowd. Jey confronts his brother Jimmy after their emotional embrace on SmackDown last week, and the two realize it's going to take some work to get the band back together. However, the brother are able to escape a sneak attack from their family in the NEW incarnation of The Bloodline.
The real plot points here involve the interactions between Jimmy and Sami, who seemingly can't get back on the same page due to Sami's hesitance. Sami is even seen in the parking lot talking to Solo Sikoa later in the evening. I believe this to be a slow play in reuniting Sami with the OG Bloodline, a place where he absolutely deserves to be.
Sheamus lived up to his "Banger after Banger" catchphrase putting on an absolute slugfest with Ludwig Kaiser who is equally as good. Really good match here that was given a lot of time. Sheamus gets the win with a Brogue Kick.
Ivy Nile took on the LWO's Zelina Vega in a match that was riddled with interference from American Made. Nile took advantage to get the win, but I'd love to see more of what Ivy can do without any outside interference.
Seth Rollins patience continues to run thin, as he straight up brawled with Bronson Reed through the parking lot. Shout out to Warriors of Wrestling's Mike Datello and Danny Storm in the background and opening sequence of RAW. The match between Seth and Bronson in Saudi should see Bron get the dub as a massive payoff for this recent push.
Match of the night went to a stellar triple threat action between The New Day, Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee, and The War Raiders. (I'm so happy to call them that moniker again) On paper this match was a dream match of sorts, and in reality it delivered. Tensions between Kofi and Xavier continued to mount, allowing some margin of error, enabling The War Raiders to win the Number One Contendership for The World Tag Team Championships.
The Main Event of the evening saw Dominik Mysterio squeak out the win over former World Heavyweight Champion, Damien Priest thanks to some help from his Judgement Day cohorts. Priest took out his anger on Dom, but nevertheless the youngest Judgement Day Member has secured a future World Heavyweight Championship opportunity.
Although perhaps an overabundance of outside interference tonight, RAW served it's purpose setting the table for what could be a pivotal Crown Jewel event ahead of a bigtime Survivor Series.
